“Tainan Science Park (Nanke)” is the artery of the economic development in Tainan County. While companies are continually moving in along with an influx of high-tech manpower from both domestic and foreign countries; therefore, it has become a very important lesson for the development of Tainan County technology industries, how to create a charming living environment and to provide a living environment possessing superlative qualities for those domestic and foreign technicians so as to enroot the Nanke residents into Tainan County.

Tainan Science Park Specific District's terrain is quite low. So, in order to prevent floods in the future, Tainan County Government has proposed “the Waterfront-Constructing Plan for Nanke Specific District”, which plans are to build ecological and flood-detention pond parks at the middle and lower reaches of the draining system. At these spots the floodwaters can be retained or drained, thus creating an ecological environment relaxing and great for touring.

In order to conform to the basic facility construction at Nanke Specific District, the basic design diagram of the 6-meter wide road (including bridges) for “the Plan of Nanke Cambridge” was completed in Apr. 2005. Nevertheless, the Public Work Bureau of Tainan County Government implemented the design and completed the proposal of “the basic design book and diagram of Nanke' s Ten Views” on Apr. 15, 2005.

According to the Plan of Nanke Cambridge, it has been decided to establish 10 flood-retention ponds and install a landscape humpback bridge at the public flood-retentions areas 1 and 2. There are also channels for boats into the ecological park along with an ancient-tree park. The brand new Nanke Cambridge is about to come true.

“Nanke Cambridge” construction plans are patterned after the elegant water body in Cambridge England, these elegant bodies of water with water shores and grass lands will integrate the water channels and flood retentions ponds into a large scale ecological habitat encompassing the open spaces surrounding the parks and green lands for the nearby residents and Nanke employees to appreciate. This place can be used for activities for just relaxing, going for a walk and jogging. They can also create a spectacle of awe mixing technology, humanity and leisure. Thus, whether traversing the open blue and green spaces of nature by boat, the beautiful scenery of Nanke Cambridge will leave you with a feeling of enhanced technology and humanity of Nanke.
